How a comedy school uses Syngency to create bookings and track payments.

I recently interviewed Morry Morgan from School of Hard Knock Knocks for our Booked On Syngency Podcast; a standup comedy school for “keynote speakers, bucket list tickers, and comedians of the future.”

As one of Syngency’s only clients in the comedy sector, I found what they were doing fascinating! I was intrigued to learn more about SOHKK and how Syngency has been playing a role in their day-to-day business.

A big part of what Morry and SOHKK does besides providing comedy classes and training for aspiring comedians, is the continual process of giving back to the community. This includes hiring students for future performances, setting up stages or festivals for comedians to perform at, creating a “factual comedy drama” series on YouTube called Is This Thing On, amongst other initiatives.

We use Syngency to book [comedians] for their time, and arrange payments,” says Morgan. “Most importantly, I use it…and I do fiddle around with settings, which probably more align for model agencies…in order to remember who hasn’t and who has been paid for particular gigs.”

“The Syngency platform is quite good, because once you’ve added a person and put all their details in…their text phone number, and their photos, and whatever…it’s really quick to pull it out again. So, I’m kind of inclined to use people who have graduated because I’ve got them in the system already.”
